Monday 15th March 3pm, in Boston
Last night we got back to Brooklyn and Andy strolled into a trainer shop in his flip flops in the rain and got accosted by the store owner who insisted he was Australian. After trying on two pairs of shrink wrapped Nike hi-tops Andy walked away without any trainers but with a free pair of socks – result! J We picked up some dinner in Williamsburg and went to the gig at Death By Audio where Emma had played a solo gig in September. First on was our Bar/None label mate Jack Skuller – we were very impressed with his and his drummer’s musicianship and really enjoyed their set. Next on was Little Big who were a trio of drum machine energetic expressive singer and extreme loop pedalling bass player! It was a nice crowd for a rainy Sunday evening in a cool arty warehouse venue. Our set list was taken and we were asked to sign cds which was flattering. We then jumped in the car and headed up to Boston. Emma sped, Andy slept, Jasmine (our travelling companion) sang and Dan rode shotgun. We arrived into Boston at 4am and even at this ungodly hour we were greeted by our wonderful host Rebecca before we crashed (in a sleeping way). Once we had all awoken this morning we went to an all American diner (Town Diner) and recharged our batteries with sugar and meat. We then got a bus and train downtown to check out the shops and buildings but it was raining and the cross winds decimated Andy’s umbrella. We were feeling pretty rock n’ roll so we popped some multivitamins on the subway.
